Sewage treatment plant with high proportion of wastewater in the textile processing industry

Sewage treatment plants that have a high proportion of industrial wastewater place particularly great demands on pH measurement because industrial wastewater often has great differences in pH values. Wastewater from the textile processing industry is characterized, for example, by high pH values of 10 to 12.

The highly alkaline wastewater would destroy the biology of the sewage treatment plant. Therefore, it is first guided through equalizing and mixing tanks to equalize pH fluctuations. It is then mixed with the municipal wastewater in a neutralization station and the pH is regulated where necessary.

Here, reliable pH measurement is extremely important for regulating the pH value optimally. At least as important is the fact that the neutralization is the last control point before the wastewater flows into the biological treatment phase. If something goes wrong here, the biology is at risk.

The Memosens sensors increase the precision of the measurement. They can be calibrated to the highest level of accuracy in the laboratory at optimum temperatures and without outside influences. The measurement is more reliable, as the digital, inductive data transmission does not receive interference from the moist ambient conditions and external potential. The data storage in the Memosens sensor makes it possible to record the sensor and calibration history. Based on this information, the suitable calibration interval can be determined and the maintenance effort involved optimized.

Despite the highly polluted wastewater that is fed into it, the biology of the sewage treatment plant remains protected.
